My belief in the importance of these people to CIRI's future as a corporation is the message I hope to convey to you this month. It's time to consider our future, and my hope is that you will make yours a vote for continued success as a company. The way to vote for our future is, in my opinion, to re-elect these board members. We're hearing a lot of people speak with great pride these days about being CIRI shareholders. We can all take a little time to look back over our recent history and celebrate our corporation's performance. |

While I am impressed with our performance and our success, especially recently, I believe what we should all be most impressed about is CIRI's stability. And it is this stability that is so critical for our future growth, in my judgment. We have become a "major player" in Alaska and even in some circles nationally. In order to maintain our position which in my view we have gained because we worked very hard to get there we need a board of directors with expertise, knowledge, experience and yes, common sense.
The five people who have been endorsed by the board cover a lot of bases. With Charles G. Anderson and Gosta Dagg we have true veterans with years of experience as board members. They have seen us through some of our tougher hours. They carry "institutional memory" with them, and they can use this experience as we chart our future. Michael R. Boling, Ronald G. Perry and Terry Simpson all bring a fresh perspective. Michael is a lawyer, Ron is a business owner, and Terry manages his own medical practice. Their educational backgrounds, their professional experience, and the lessons they have learned in the school of "hard knocks" can be valuable tools for them to use as board members. Each of us can play an important role in charting CIRI's course for the future. As shareholders, it is our job to seat the people we believe are most qualified for the position of board member. I encourage you to vote for these five board-endorsed candidates. Your board of directors has guided our company through a period of unprecedented economic progress, and I applaud their leadership. Voting for the board-endorsed candidates is one way, in my opinion, to help us move forward toward what I believe can be CIRI's next phase of growth. I also urge you to vote for these five because I believe it takes teamwork between the board and managment to create stability, and these five, in my judgment, are team players for CIRI. Your vote is important. Whether you are a satisfied shareholder and I hope that you are or unsatisfied, please do vote. And I urge you to avoid delays and vote now. I encourage you to continue the successful direction your board has taken to date. We want to try to continue our forward momentum. We want to work as a strong team. And we want to focus on the positive impact we can make in our shareholders' lives. Thank you. |
